ARJO's Requirements
ARJO UK is an internationally recognised supplier of mobility solutions. However, they were struggling to keep their Trafford Park warehouse warm in an efficient and cost-effective way.
To tackle the issue, ARJO wanted to replace their existing wet heating system with a more energy-efficient electric-fuelled alternative. They wanted this new warehouse heating system to heat the main working area only, not below the mezzanine. Further, they wanted the area to be heated to around 14/15 °C to ensure the chill was taken off the building in colder months.

Installation / Results

Considering the large open plan space to be heated and the height of the ceiling (11m to its highest apex), OKEL proposed the introduction of a Winterwarm EH40 electric air heater. This would be supported by the introduction of 2 x WCU60 destratification fans to minimise heat loss from the ceiling and to provide an even spread of warm air throughout the area.
This combination would help to maximise the efficiency of ARJO’s heating system and reduce their overall carbon footprint. The Carbon Trust estimates energy savings of 20-30% by introducing a robust destratification system into large open-plan spaces with high ceilings.
All works were completed to schedule and to the manufacturer’s instructions by our NICEIC-approved engineers and with NICEIC commissioning certification issued to the customer on project completion.
